We’re saddling up again and getting ready to take to the streets of Pretoria for the 2nd edition of Die Groot Trap, which takes place on 2 April 2023, and the 2023 edition boasts three brand new routes.
The positioning of the event in its inaugural year represented an amazing journey for the organising crew and stakeholders and we would like to especially acknowledge the Pretoria Traffic Department for their assistance in prioritising the route.
Sun Arena Time Square plays host to a delightful race village with a great atmosphere.
With the support of Sun Arena Time Square, the race has an incredible venue that has allowed it to vest itself as a fully-fledged mass participation event from the outset. The complex is impressive, with ample parking and depth in infrastructure. It comfortably accommodates a mass participation event of up to 9000 cyclists.
It’s secure, hassle-free and presents a stunning family friendly environment. There’s lots to do at the venue for riders and their loved ones with so many really nice restaurant and entertainment options to choose from.
Die Groot Trap constituted Pretoria’s biggest cycling race in its first year of presentation with 2500 riders taking part. It really represents a delightful day for cyclists and all route assistance stakeholders function incredibly well on what is a tough day logistically.
Event logistics and route control are managed by De Villiers National Cycling and Lenick Promotions.
