450 ENTRY LIMIT
Road Cycling Stage Racing comes to Joburg this year in
the form of the 4-Day Tour du Nord Stage race from
12-15 May 2022, encompassing a total distance of
371km and 4225m vertical ascent.
The four-day road cycling tour is based at Silverstar
Casino on the West-Rand and limited to 450 entries.
It caters for all CSA racing category cyclists up to 60+
Veteran Men, as well elite women and Open/Seeded
riders who have a normal CSA affiliation.
Entries are now open for the Tour at a 20% early bird
discount until Thursday 17 March. The normal entry fee
is R3750 and early birds will pay R3000. All entrants
receive an official Tour du Nord Velotex event T-shirt.
The tour comprises of an undulating first stage over
115km followed by a 2 nd stage in two parts. Stage 2A is
a 6.4km hill climb individual time trial while stage 2B is
a kermesse at Silverstar Casino. Stage 3 is the queen
stage and covers 128km while stage 4 covers 102km
Registration will take place at Silverstar Casino on
Wednesday 11 May from 10h00 – 19h00
COMPETITIONS
CSA Racing Elite Men:
General Classification, Sprinters, King of the Mountains, Best Young Rider (Junior), and Teams
Classification. The Best Young Rider is applicable to Juniors racing in the elite bunch.
Points in the Sprinter’s as well as KOM jersey competition will be allocated as follows at primes:
Points: 3-2-1
KOM: 3-2-1
Points will be allocated to the Sprinter’s Jersey at stage finishes as follows: 10-6-4.
NO TIME BONUSSES ARE AWARDED AT ANY HOTSPOTS OR STAGE FINISHES
The cumulative time of the 3 best daily finishers in a team will count towards the Elite Teams
Classification.
CSA Racing Elite Women:

30+ Veteran Men:
General Classification and King of the Mountains.
40+ Veteran Men:
General Classification and King of the Mountains.
50+ Veteran Men:
General Classification and King of the Mountains.
60+ Veteran Men:
General Classification and King of the Mountains.
